FOR the first time since December 12, the whole of the Welsh League Division One programme survived the elements and Goytre United ensured a happy start to 2010 by beating title rivals Aberaman Athletic 3-0 at Glenhafod Park to open up a 12-point lead at the top.Second-placed Caldicot Town notched their second win of the week, 3-0 at Dinas Powys, while Afan Lido secured fourth place on Friday night, beating Barry Town 2-0 at the Marstons' Stadium with goals from Scott McCoubrey and new signing Robbie Walters (pictured) from Haverfordwest. Bryntirion Athletic went fifth thanks to a 2-0 win over Bettws, while high flyers Taffs Well thumped bottom club Caerleon 4-0. |
