CALDICOT Town are the surprise package in Welsh League Division One after moving within five points of leaders Goytre United with a 2-0 away win at Garden Village.Afan Lido, fresh from their Welsh Cup win over Gap Connah's Quay, moved up to sixth with a 3-0 home win over struggling Caerleon. Recent signing from Haverfordwest, Robbie Walters (pictured), scored twice with ex-Welsh Premier stalwart Chris Pridham adding the other with his first goal at this level. But home keeper Mike Lewis saved a Caerleon penalty when the game was goal-less. But Barry Town dropped a place into seventh after sharing six goals with West End, while Pontardawe Town and Bettws also drew 3-3. Aberaman strengthened their claims by beating Taffs Well 4-1 and move back into fourth place. |
