GOYTRE United remained eight points clear at the top of the Welsh League after a 5-1 drubbing of Bridgend Town.Veteran Chris Summers (pictured) led the way with yet another career hat-trick with Richard Ryan and Darren Griffiths also on the scoresheet. Caldicot Town are in second spot thanks to a 3-1 victory at Ton Pentre, while a ninth consecutive home win kept Afan Lido on the tails of the leaders. Two late goals from Nathan White secured a 2-0 victory over reigning champions Aberaman, who slip to eighth place. Barry Town were rocked 1-0 at lowly Bettws where Richard Ready scored the only goal in the 28th-minute, but Bryntirion Athletic climbed to fifth with goals from Anthony Rawlings and Paul Evans in a 2-1 win over Ely Rangers. |
