| Bridgend swoop for Kift |
| Friday 26 February 2010 |
ABERAMAN captain John Kift has left the reigning Welsh League champions and signed for Bridgend Town. The Exiles are facing the possibility of playing in Welsh League Division Two next season and hope that striker Kift can boost their survival prospects. After spending two seasons on the fringes of his home town club Cardiff City, Kift joined Merthyr Tydfil after being released from Ninian Park in the summer of 2006. He signed for Newtown on dual forms in March 2007 but made just one Welsh Premier appearance before deciding to link up with Barry Town. Aberaman boss Leighton James swooped for a replacement in Ben Luck from Cwmbran Celtic, but his side was held to a 2-2 home draw on Thursday night by Bryntirion Athletic. |
