A 5-2 Welsh League victory for Caldicot Town on Wednesday night was good news for clubs that finish outside the top 10 in this season's Welsh Premier table. The Gwent outfit now occupy second place in the league behind Goytre United, and neither have applied for promotion to the top flight. Caldicot, who beat reigning champions Aberaman Athletic at home, are now four points clear of Afan Lido, who have applied to step-up to the Welsh Premier and have played the same number of games. Third-placed Barry Town are level on points with Caldicot, but have played six games more. |
