AFAN Lido's promotion hopes suffered a double blow on Thursday night in a 2-1 defeat at Garden Village. Not only do the third-placed Seasiders go into Saturday’s clash at Caldicot Town three points short of leaders Goytre United and two behind Cambrian & Clydach, but they will be without their leading scorer. Nathan White was red-carded along with Shaun Galsworthy, ruling them out of the rest of the season. Galsworthy had conceded an own-goal after 12 minutes when he turned a Marc Lloyd corner into his own net, but White equalised early in the second half. The Village winner arrived on the hour with Craig Burgess converting a Lloyd cross before White saw red on 74 minutes and Galsworthy 13 minutes later. Lido’s other remaining fixture is home to leaders Goytre United on Wednesday. |
