Leaders set-up title showdown
Monday 17 May 2010
VICTORIES for leading duo Goytre United and Afan Lido at the weekend have set-up a possible championship decider when the clubs meet at the Marston's Stadium on Wednesday.
Goytre would lift their third title in five seasons with a win but, even if Lido take the spoils, they could still be overhauled by Cambrian & Clydach, who have two games left to play.
Darren Griffiths and a Richard Ryan penalty put the Goyts two goals to the good against West End, but goals either side of half-time from Alex Chrysanthou and Kieran Cullen made it 2-2.
Griffiths scored again in the 70th minute and a late Richard French strike sealed a the victory.
Lido were 4-1 winners at Caldicot Town's Jubilee Way with defender Carl Evans and Mark Jones on target in the first-half.
And, after Caldicot had pulled a goal back early in the second half, Jones settled Lido nerves in the 80th minute before completing a hat-trick with a late penalty.
