RELEGATED to Welsh League Division Two at the end of the last season, Ton Pentre have appointed Dean Morris as manager. Morris arrives from Pontypridd Town, where he was player/assistant manager, and returns to the club where he won six Welsh League titles during a lengthy spell with the Rhondda Bulldogs. The new boss has appointed Andrew Hughes, who took temporary charge of the Bulldogs during last season, as his assistant manager. "We are delighted that Dean has decided to take over the reigns here at Ynys Park and are confident that this will be a popular appointment with the Bulldogs fans," says secretary Chris Jones. "Dean has plenty of experience at all levels of Welsh League football and Ton Pentre will hope to benefit from this. "Dean and Andrew are immediately planning for the new season and we hope that they can guide us back towards Division One of the Welsh League. We fully realise that is going to be a tough task but nevertheless we are looking forward to the new season." Striker Morris made 14 appearances in the League of Wales for Ton and UWIC Inter Cardiff between 1994 and 2001. |
