| Lido capture Llanelli midfielder Mumford |
| Wednesday 07 July 2010 |
AFTER failing to be offered terms by Llanelli for next season, former Swansea City midfielder Andrew Mumford has signed for Welsh League outfit Afan Lido. The Marston's Stadium outfit beat several Welsh Premier clubs for the signature of the 29-year-old, who was one of six senior players not included in the Reds' squad for the Europa League ties with FK Tauras. Mumford made 62 League appearances for Swansea, where he was voted player of the season in 2002/3, having previously played at Llanelli and Haverfordwest County. He spent season 2003/4 on loan with Conference outfit Aldershot and has also made 21 appearances for Newport County. Mumford signed for Port Talbot at the start of the 2004/5 season but moved to Aberystwyth. Released from Park Avenue at the end of the campaign, he moved back to Port Talbot the following year and signed for Llanelli in January 2007, where he was part of the side that won the Welsh Premier title in 2008/9. He has scored 28 goals from his 136 (+29) appearances in the domestic top flight. |
