BRIDGEND Town are among the favourites to clinch the signature of Port Talbot striker Daniel Thomas, who has been released from his contract at his own request. The 26-year-old, who says his decision is due to a change in work commitments, joined the Steelmen in May 2009 after a successful spell in the Welsh League with Briton Ferry and Goytre United. He scored five goals from 19 (+7) appearances in the top flight including a hat-trick in a 7-0 win over Cefn Druids and also started in last season's Welsh Cup final defeat to Bangor City. Thomas's former Glenhafod Park team-mate Darren Lyons is now assistant manager at ambitious Bridgend, who also have former Goyts' Richard Ryan and Robbie Walters in their ranks. |
