AFTER hitting seven goals in midweek, Bridgend Town carried their impressive League form into the Welsh Cup when they moved into round three with a 4-2 victory at Taffs Well.Former Port Talbot duo Richard Ryan and Daniel Thomas (pictured) each bagged braces for the Brewerymen, with Alan Colwill and Jason Welsh netting for Taffs. Cambrian and Clydach caused something of an upset when they sent Afan Lido slipping to a 2-1 reverse, Gareth Welsh scoring both the Cambrian goals and Jonathan Hood on target for Lido. Aberaman beat Garden Village 6-1 at Stafford Common, Sam Small bagging four goals. UWIC overwhelmed Newcastle Emlyn 4-1 in west Wales, all their goals coming in a one-sided second-half. Champions Goytre United go into round three at the expense of first-round giant-killers Fleur de Lys, with Jason Thorn, Mark Pritchard and Richard French scoring in a 3-1 win. |
