Aberaman turn to experienced boss Richards
Wednesday 10 November 2010
FOLLOWING the resignation of David Gough, Aberaman Athletic have appointed the vastly-experienced Kevin Richards, who will be in charge for Friday night's Welsh League Division One fixture against local rivals Penrhiwceiber Rangers.
Richards, who was at Ton Pentre for a decade, is probably one of the most successful managers in Welsh League football.
He led the Rhondda Bulldogs to five titles plus the Welsh League Cup in 1998/9 and 2000/1.
He also guided Ton to the FAW Welsh Cup semi-finals in seasons 2001/2 and 2002/3. He resigned from the Ynys Park outfit last October and has been out of the game since.
Aberaman have also announced the departure of striker Jonathan Kift and top scorer Sam Small to join fellow First Division club Afan Lido.
