FORMER Welsh Premier outfit Barry Town are advertising for a new manager, who must have £15,000 to spare! An advertisment for the vacancy created by the departure of Gavin Chesterfield to Haverfordwest County states: "The Club will only consider applicants who are able to bring financial backing to the first team to a minimum of £15k." "Barry Town have won 13 Premier titles, six Welsh Cups, 20 other trophies and played 26 matches in the European Champions League and UEFA Cup. "The club’s facilities are second to none in Welsh football with a near 3,000 all seater ground and Club facilities with a capacity for over 400. "Barry is the biggest town in Wales with a population of 60,000. We currently have six teams from under-10 to adult. "The club needs a successful first team to do justice to its setup, success which requires financial backing." The advertisement also states that the Dragons are for sale "at £250k debt free" to any potential investor, "an investment which could prove a bargain with a successful team and club." |
