James strengthens Lido's promotion bid
Thursday 23 December 2010
WELSH League leaders Afan Lido are set to parade new signing Kristian James when they return to action next week.
The Seasiders signed the 28-year-old defender from Welsh Premier outfit Carmarthen Town last week.
Last season James started a second spell with Neath, having signed for the Eagles from Aberystwyth Town during the January transfer window.
James joined Cwmbran Town in December 2003 from Welsh Leaguers Neath after being signed by Welsh legend Neville Southall for Dover Athletic in 2001.
Originally on the books at Swansea City and the older brother of Adam James who signed for the Crows at the same time, he moved to Port Talbot in October 2005 and was dual registered with Newport County.
After returning to the Steelmen in July 2008 he left to join Aberystwyth three months later without having made an appearance for Talbot.
The arrival of James gives further evidence of Lido's ambition to reclaim a place in the Welsh Premier after an absence of six years.
They currently head the table by four points from Cambrian & Clydach, but the Rhondda Valley side have four games in hand.
