| Monday 17 January 2011 |
WELSH League leaders Afan Lido were shocked at home as lowly Pontardawe Town took the spoils in a 3-1 win.Matthew Hibbs put the visitors in front on the half hour, with Mark Jones (pictured) equalising from the penalty spot on 57 minutes, but Hibbs restored Ponty's lead four minutes later and Sam Wade sealed the win with the third goal on 64 minutes to end Lido's unbeaten home record. Bridgend Town moved into second place after a 3-2 home win over Penrhiwceiber Rangers at the Brewery Field and trail Lido by two points with a game in hand. But the biggest threat to the Aberavon outfit's aspirations is from Cambrian & Clydach, whose fixture was postponed, dropping them in third place, three points off the summit with four games in hand. Bryntirion Athletic went fifth with a 5-1 home win over Caerau Ely, while Goytre United moved up to seventh with a 3-1 win over Cwmbran Celtic. Barry Town and West End drew 1-1. |
