BRYNTIRION Athletic increased their lead at the top of the MacWhirter Welsh League's Division One to six points with a 2-0 home win over Taff's Well on Friday night.Tom Wellington (pictured) opened the scoring for the hosts in the first half with a second half strike from Adam Carpenter sealing the victory. Aberaman Athletic bounced back from a humiliating seven goal home thrashing at the hands of Pontardawe by beating reigning champions Goytre United 4-3. Jon Phillips with a brace, Ross Leeke and Jonathan Kift scored for the hosts with Jacob Daly, a Greg Palmer own goal and a late Jason Thorn penalty for Goyts. Barry Town and Cwmbran Celtic drew 2-2 at Jenner Park with Ryan Jenkins and Dan Clare on target for the Dragons and Celtic's goals scored by Rakesh Patel and Craig Cheedy. |
