A DOMINANT display earned Caldicot Town a thoroughly-deserved victory over defending champions Goytre United at Jubilee Way to considerably ease their relegation fears. The win takes Caldicot four points clear of the drop zone and will increase confidence ahead of Saturday's trip down the M4 to face West End. The home side opened the scoring on 33 minutes through former United striker Gareth Cullimore with co-marksman Scott Lanyon doubling the advantage five minutes before the interval. Within six minutes of the start of the second period it was 3-0 after Steve Edwards' well-struck effort with Cullimore wrapping up the scoring by grabbing his second from close range in added time. In Tuesday's other game, Taffs Well went down 2-1 at home to Pontardawe Town, who nevertheless remain in sixth place, one point ahead of Well with two games in hand, |
