AFAN Lido kept up the pressure on Bryntirion Athletic at the top of the Welsh League with a 4-1 win at Caerau Ely. Nathan White put Lido ahead and a Mark Jones strike made it 2-0 at the break. Two more goals from Jones completed his hat-trick, moving his seasonal tally onto the 15 mark, while Tyrrell Webbe completed the scoring. It kept the Seasiders within 12 points of the Bridgend side with four games in hand and they are confident their licence appeal will be successful, opening the way for a return to the Welsh Premier. However, with Bryntirion remain title favourites after winning 4-2 against Penrhiwceiber Rangers with a brace from Ricardo Hodge and goals strikes from captain Paul Evans and Shaun Barney-Williams. Barry Town lost 4-0 loss at West End whose scorers were Kieran Cullen, Ricki Hayden, Sam Brown and Ashley Curtis. Goals in each half from Robbie Walters gave Goytre United a 2-0 home win over Caldicot, but Garden Village lost a basement battle at former champions Aberaman Athletic, going down 4-3. |
