ABERAMAN Athletic have appointed a new management duo in Lee Jarman and Aberdare-born Lee Phillips, both highly-experienced players looking to make their name in Welsh League management.
Defender Jarman, 33, made 52 Welsh Premier appearances for Barry Town after starting his career with Cardiff City and winning caps for Wales at all ages up to Under-21.
He later played for Exeter City and Oxford United, making a total of 122 Football League appearances.
After a spell with Weston-super-Mare, adding three appearances for his country at semi-professional level, Jarman joined Newport in the summer of 2007 but was released a year later and signed for Haverfordwest County.
He transferred to Llanelli in May 2009 as the first signing for new manager Andy Legg, but returned to the New Bridge Meadow a year later to rejoin the Bluebirds.
Phillips, 32, is also a Welsh semi-pro international who spent five years at Cardiff City and was a team-mate of Jarman at Barry.
After appearing for Forest Green and Newport, he captained Llanelli to their first Welsh Premier title but left in June 2008 after being offered reduced terms.
Despite signing for Port Talbot Town, Phillips made a shock return to the Reds just 27 days later and spent last season at Carmarthen Town, completing a total of 224 (+8) domestic league appearances.
The duo will start pre-season training this Saturday with an open training session, players old and new are welcome to attend at 11.30am.
"The Club would like to thank Matt Collins and Greg Palmer for all the hard work they put in last season ensuring that the club retained its Division One status," says a statement from the club.
"Collins resigned recently due to a change in his work patterns."
