CAMBRIAN & Clydach remain three points clear at the top of the Welsh League despite being thwarted by the weather.Their home game with Goytre United became the first casualty of the season, abandoned after six minutes due to a waterlogged pitch. West End are second after a 4-2 away win at Aberaman Athletic, after third-placed Bridgend Town were held to a 2-2 draw at Ton Pentre on Friday night. The Bulldogs scored a last minute equaliser with a Ross Fowler penalty, having played most of the second-half with 10-men following the dismissal of Craig Davies. Richard Ingram had given Ton the lead before Town levelled with a follow-up after Gianluca Palladino's penalty had been saved and Nathan White then put the visitors in front. Bryntirion Athletic won 3-1 at lowly Cwmaman Institute to retain fourth place over AFC Porth, whose good form since promotion continued with a 2-0 win over Caerau (Ely). Elsewhere, Haverfordwest were held 2-2 at home by Barry Town as former Bluebirds' manager Gavin Chesterfield returned to the Bridge Meadow, while Pontardawe and Cardiff Corinthians shared the spoils by the same scoreline. Taffs Well beat Cwmbran Celtic 3-0 in the day's other game. Photo: Former Neath frontman Richard Ingram scored for Bridgend [Mike Greenslade/www.mikezite.co.uk]. |
