HAVERFORDWEST put the departure of director of football Leighton James behind them to beat promotion hopefuls Bridgend Town 1-0 at the Bridge Meadow. With new signings Owain Thomas and Darren Griffiths in their ranks, the hosts made the breakthrough on 62 minutes Richard Lewis hammered a left-footer past veteran keeper Marty Ellacott. Leaders Cambrian & Clydach saw their lead at the top reduced to six points after being held a 1-1 Friday night draw at home to Ton Pentre. The hosts were reduced to 10-men during the second half when Daniel Lever was dismissed for denying Richard Ingram a goal scoring opportunity before Leon Young put Ton in front, but Josh Evans headed home from a free-kick to equalise in the 80th-minute. As the game moved into injury time, half of the floodlights at King George V Field cut out and, after briefly restarting play, the referee called full-time. Only promoted at the start of this season, AFC Porth claimed second place with a 3-1 home win over Aberaman Athletic. Third place West End were well beaten, 4-1 away to Taffs Well, while Goytre United rise to fourth after a 3-0 away win at Pontardawe Town.
