BARRY Town returned to the top of the Welsh League on Tuesday night with a 2-0 home win over another former Welsh Premier club Cwmbran Town. The Dragons took a 12th-minute lead through Scott Jones and the second, in the 70th-minute, came from Jamie Bradford, who cut inside the Crows' defence and hit a great left foot drive. The defeat sees the Gwent outfit back in 18th place and facing relegation to the Second Division, two years after losing their top flight status. On Wednesday night, Cambrian & Clydach shocked Ton Pentre in the Rhondda derby, winning 4-1 at Ynys Park to move above their opponents into fifth place. The visitors took a first-minute lead and added further goals through Dane Williams and Jason Bertorelli, while Ton had Phil Clarke sent-off late in the game for an alleged stamp. |
