BARRY Town's Atif Bashir has again been called-up by the Pakistan national side. He will take part in the Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup qualifiers in Sri Lanka when Pakistan face the host country, Chinese Taipei and Brunei Darussalam between April 4 and 8. Bashir (left of picture), who turns 24 on Friday, played as a junior with Hertha Berlin from the age of seven, leaving for Cardiff in 2000. After appearing as a youth with Cardiff City in 2001/2, he joined Maesteg Park, Afan Lido, Taffs Well and Cardiff Grange Quins, returning to the Welsh Premier with Haverfordwest in January 2008 and has made a total of 15 appearances in the domestic league. |
