| Monday 06 April 2009 |
ENTO Aberaman's bid for promotion to the Welsh Premier suffered a blow as they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Cardiff Corries.Former Port Talbot frontman Richard Ryan (pictured) netted for the hosts with George Enescu replying for the visitors, but Aberaman had captain and central defender Mike Jones sent off during the second half. David Morgan's side remain fourth, but have six games in hand on leaders Barry Town who beat Welsh Cup semi-finalists Bridgend Town 2-1 on Friday night. Third placed Bettws beat Ton Pentre 1-0, while another former Welsh Premier outfit Afan Lido drew 1-1 with Newport YMCA thanks to an equaliser from Scott McCoubrey. Bryntirion continued their recent improved form with a 2-1 home success against Croesyceiliog. Ian Gearie and Tom Wellington from the penalty spot were on target for Athletic, with former Barry, Cwmbran and TNS striker Jodie Jenkins netting for the Gwent outfit. |
