ENTO move up the table
Wednesday 15 April 2009
THE only possible promotion candidates from the Welsh League, ENTO Aberaman moved into third place on Wednesday night with a 5-1 victory over Caldicot Town at Aberaman Park.
The visitors took a 35th-minute lead, but Aberaman hit back through John Phillips (2), Richard Ryan and a Mattie Davies brace.
Victory lifted ENTO to one point behind Goytre United, who lost 2-1 in the local derby at Pontardawe Town to throw the title race wide open.
A David Thomas own-goal gave Goyts the lead with Adam James equalising just before the break. The winner was scored by Vincent Wattleworth, who sent a 58th-minute free kick past Christopher Curtis in the Goytre goal.
Needing to finish in at least second place to reach the Welsh Premier, ENTO have played the same number of games as the Goyts, and have four games in hand on leaders Barry Town, who are seven points ahead.
