| Barry's defeat threatens Caersws |

WELSH League leaders Barry Town went down to a shock 2-0 home defeat at the hands of struggling Newport YMCA on Tuesday night to threaten the chances of Caersws escaping relegation from the top flight. The former Welsh Premier champions are now only two points clear of ENTO Aberaman, who have four games in hand, and four ahead of Goytre United, who have five games remaining. With Barry having completed their fixtures, ENTO are virtually assured of a top-two finish which means they would be promoted to the Premier, displacing 17th-placed Caersws, provided they can satisfy the ground criteria. The Aberdare outfit are at home to Ton Pentre on Wednesday night and would go top if they win. |
