FORMER Welsh Premier outfit Cwmbran Town have asked Torfaen County Borough Council to relocate the club in time for the 2009/10 season. Relegated to the Welsh League's second division, the Crows simply can't afford the hire of Cwmbran Stadium anymore and with the venue's stand closed to spectators for the foreseable future because of a faulty safety barrier, the club wants a new home. There are a number of locations which could be developed into a ground capable of matching MacWhirter Welsh Premier League criteria. According to a Cwmbran Town official, the club has opened talks with one interested party, although there has not yet been a response from TCBC. Founder members of the League of Wales, Cwmbran were relegated from the top flight two years ago. |
