Four for Moses in Reds' cup romp
Tuesday 20 October 2009
Craig MosesLLANELLI booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Loosemores League Cup with an 8-1 thrashing of sub-strength Aberystwyth.
Striker Craig Moses (pictured) led the way with four goals for the Reds but, needing a win to reach the last eight, the visiting Seasiders virtually waved a white flag before kick-off.
Caretaker boss Christian Edwards named only six players with first team experience and handed rare starts to goalkeeper Jon Hartnell and outfield players Eilian Evans, Karl Seliaerts, Gwion ap Dafydd and Anthony Hartnell.
Llanelli wasted little time in booking a date at The New Saints in a week's time, with Rhys Griffiths scoring the first after 11 minutes and Moses virtually settling the tie a minute later.
Moses added another before half-time after Andy Evans had put through his own goal.
Aberystwyth got their consolation from the penalty spot through Luke Bowen on 65 minutes, but Corbisiero completed his brace from the spot, before Moses added two more in the last 10 minutes.
