ABERYSTWYTH manager Alan Morgan believes there is more to come from his players after claiming a top three place. The Seasiders surged into contention with their fourth win on the trot, 2-0 at Prestatyn Town, and Morgan said: "We are doing OK, but there's still a hell of a lot of work to do here. “We are not brilliant by any means, but four on the bounce is pleasing. “Winning is a good habit and we need to keep churning out the results, but no-one is getting carried away. “I’m still looking to bring two or three players in and the signing of Connall Murtagh, on loan, is a good start.” Morgan was pleased for goalscorer Graham Evans, who has been plagued by injury but scored the opening goal: "Graham has a big part to play. If we keep him fit, he'll score goals," he added. Rhyl manger Greg Strong tried to put a brace face on matters after a late Nicky Holland goal sentenced the reigning champions to a 2-1 defeat at Port Talbot, a fourth defeat in 11 games. "We've just got to dust ourselves down and take it on the chin," he said. "There’s enough in that changing room to go out and beat any team in the league. We don’t fear anyone and for long periods today we were the better team." Bangor manager Nev Powell was pleased to return to action with three points at home to Elements Cefn Druids with a hat-trick from striker Chris Sharp. "We really needed that game as it’s put us in good stead for next Saturday’s visit to Llanelli. "We’ve got some momentum now, a bit of consistency, we’ve added some players to the squad and we’re going to need them all as there’s a tough road ahead," he said. Bala won the Gwynedd derby 2-0 at Porthmadog and boss Colin Caton was delighted: "I thought we approached the game really well with a good attitude and the game could have been over in the first five minutes," he said. "We looked very solid defensively, and it was a fantastic all-round performance." Photo: Aberystwyth scorer Graham Evans celebrates with Conall Murtagh [Colin Paxton]. |
