| Wrexham show interest in Luke Holden |
| Tuesday 19 January 2010 |
WREXHAM manager Dean Saunders has not ruled-out bringing-in Rhyl wingman Luke Holden before the January transfer window closes. Holden has returned to Belle Vue after spending three months on loan at Charlton Athletic, who decided not to sign the 21-year-old. Opportunities were limited for Holden as Charlton don’t have a regular reserve team side and the left-sided winger made just one appearance for the Addicks in the 2-1 defeat to Southampton in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Holden has been training with Wrexham and could feature in Wednesday night’s friendly with Airbus UK Broughton at The Airfield. "Luke is another one we are monitoring," said Saunders. "We are looking at him and have not ruled out loaning him." A former Liverpool youth and Tranmere Rovers trainee, Holden signed for The New Saints in August 2007. Released in April 2008 after making 22 first team starts, he followed manager Ken McKenna to Cammell Laird and also played at Bradford Park Avenue before returning to the Welsh Premier with the Lilywhites a year ago.
