Repeat injury blow for Windsor
Monday 08 February 2010
Geraint WindsorGERAINT Windsor has suffered another serious injury blow just weeks after returning to the Welshpool ranks.
The defender ruptured another cruciate knee ligament injury on Sunday morning and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
With 199 Welsh Premier appearances since 2002, the versatile 29-year-old is the club's record league appearance holder, but suffered cruciate ligament damage to his knee during pre-season which saw him need an operation.
Since returning he had made just three league appearances, starting in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Carmarthen Town.
"It's a massive blow to the club to lose such an influential player and an even bigger blow to Geraint who has trained so hard to recover from the same injury already this season," says Lilywhites' secretary Liam Pritchard.
"We are absolutely gutted for him, he's such a nice lad and a true club man for Technogroup Welshpool.
"He has put in countless hours of extremely hard work to get back to fitness only for this to happen three games into his comeback."
