 WYN Thomas notched a first-half hat-trick as Llanelli powered back to the top of the table with a 5-2 win at Cefn Druids. The defender opened his account in the second-minute, sending a looping header from Andy Leeg's corner over keeper Chris Mullock and into the far corner. A Legg long throw was forced-in at the far post on 41 minutes and Thomas completed his threesome a minute later, driving home from the edge of the box after the Ancients had failed to clear another Legg missile into the box. Jon Rush and Waynne Phillips grabbed consolations for the home side after the break as the Reds added further goals from Andrew Mumford and Craig Moses. Aberystwyth took over third place with a 2-1 win at Newtown in front of the weekend's highest attendance of 475, with goals from TNS loanee Conall Murtagh and Luke Bowen, Paul Roberts replying for the Robins. They leapfrogged Rhyl, who went down 1-0 at home to Neath, with Chris Llewellyn netting the only goal of the game four minutes after the break. The visitors had Stephen Pockett red-carded soon afterwards for making an obscene gesture to the crowd, but held on to their lead to give Andy Dyer's side a much-needed three points. Port Talbot dropped crucial points in the race for a European place as they succumbed at home to a Neil Smothers goal in a 1-0 win for Carmarthen, the team formerly managed by Steelmen's boss Mark Jones. Bangor City didn't have things their own way at home to Technogroup Welshpool, for whom Mike Cronshaw scored a first-half brace. Jamie Brewerton and Jamie Reed had the Citizens level at half-time, with Reed netting from the penalty spot on 65 minutes to take his season's tally to 15 and seal the points. Ex-Football League defender Jamie Smith scored twice for Airbus in a 3-0 home win over lowly Caersws, while Mike Foster returned to the fray following the recent tragic death of his wife and helped Porthmadog to a 0-0 home draw with Haverfordwest.
