 WELSH Premier leading duo Llanelli and The New Saints both face difficult tests on Tuesday night as the title race hots up. The Reds, who host a Port Talbot Town side still smarting from Saturday's 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Carmarthen Town, wait on the fitness of leading scorer and former Steelman Rhys Griffiths, who missed the 5-2 win at Cefn Druids. Rivals The New Saints are at full strength for their visit to Carmarthen, where another tight contest is in prospect as the Old Gold seek to build on their weekend win and achieve a top-10 finish. "Obviously we’ve got to face up to them," says Town boss Deryn Brace. "In terms of difficult games we’ve found every game this season difficult, so where they’ve been in the league really hasn’t mattered to us" Bala Town hope to be at full strength for the visit of Newtown, who are desperate for points in the race for a Super 12 place. The Robins have loanee Dave Roberts back in goal after being unable to play against his home club Aberystwyth in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Latham Park. "Tonight's a massive game as both Newtown and ourselves are fighting for a top 10 spot," says Lakesiders' manager Colin Caton. Alan Hooley and Allan Glover both miss Gap Connah's Quay's "must-win" clash at Technogroup Welshpool. Hooley has a hamstring injury while Glover is being treated for a thigh strain, but manager Ken Price hopes to have midfielder Sam McNutt back in contention, with Nomads also needing to close the gap on the top 10 as a matter of urgency.
