 A LAST-gasp winner kept The New Saints in touch with Llanelli as both continue to set a hot pace in the race for the Welsh Premier League title. The Saints won their third away game in eight days but they left it late at The Gnoll, where substitute John McKenna got their winner in the sixth minute of stoppage time to leave a serious dent in Neath's European aspirations. The deadlock was finally broken when Tommy Holmes crossed from the left and McKenna volleyed home past Anthony Williams from 15 yards. Meanwhile, the Reds racked-up their twelth consecutive league victory with a 2-0 success at lowly Caersws. Rhys Griffiths fired the visitors in front on 12 minutes from the penalty spot for his 19th goal of the campaign, with Wyn Thomas adding the second after the break. Rhyl hammered a weakened Elements Cefn Druids 6-0 at Belle Vue, Matty Williams leading the way with a hat-trick. But the Ancients kept the scoreline down to 1-0 until the hour mark, before Williams netted twice more and Chris Williams, Mark Connolly and Andrew Pearson also scored. Williams missed the chance to add his fourth goal from the penalty spot late on. The game at The Airfield had goal-less draw written all over it from the early stages as defences dominated. The Wingmakers were probably happier with the point to consolidate their place in the top 10, but had Matty Woodward red-carded in the last minute. Gap Connah's Quay and Carmarthen Town were also involved in a scoreless affair at the Deeside Stadium which leaves the Old Gold in 11th-place and the Nomads facing a virtually impossible task to qualify for next season's Super 12.
