Caersws part company with assistant boss

Dave TaylorCAERSWS have parted company with assistant manager Dave Taylor after their relegation to the Cymru Alliance.
Taylor, who won the Alliance crown when manager of Buckley Town in 2004/5, joined the Bluebirds as assistant manager in the summer of 2007, later taking over the reins when Mike Barton departed.
But he returned to the number two role last summer following the surprise return of former boss Mickey Evans, who had stepped down before Barton was appointed.
A prolific goal-scorer in the Welsh Premier who played in the first season of the then League of Wales with Conwy United before a move to Porthmadog, Taylor scored 23 times from 28 appearances for the two clubs, but his most prolific period came a season later when his 43 goals from 38 games put him top of the European goal charts.
He left the Traeth in season 1993/4 for Inter Cardiff, before a move back to Morfa Conwy, followed by spells at Newtown, Holywell Town, Welshpool, Flexsys Cefn Druids and Oswestry Town, bringing a total of 117 league goals from 163 appearances, plus 44 as sub.
Taylor, who has recently completed his Uefa 'B' licence course and is keen to return to management, says he understands that Caersws are intending to pursue a policy of recruiting local players for next season with a reduced budget.
