'Big money' offers to Bangor players
Friday 07 May 2010
Jamie ReedBANGOR City manager Nev Powell says he is aware that one un-named club is offering 'big money' in an attempt to try and lure players away from the club.
A statement from Farrar Road issued tonight adds that defenders Dave Morley and Michael Johnston have joined the list of 13 players who have now committed to the club for next season.
Scorer of City's winning goal in the Welsh Cup final, Morley has signed for a further 12 months while Johnston, named in the Welsh Premier managers' team of the season, is now contracted until the end of the 2011/12 season.
As we reported earlier today, the only significant omissions from City's confirmed squad for next season are striker Lee Hunt, who has being linked with a possible move to Aberystwyth Town, and forwards Mark Smyth and Ashley Stott.
Meanwhile, leading scorer Jamie Reed has been allowed to go to Australia on-loan during the close season and has signed for Dandenong Thunder who play in the Victorian Premier League.
Reed will return for the start of the league season in August.
