Wednesday 12 May 2010
THE New Saints have made it a treble-winning season by adding the Welsh Premier's Fair Play title to their league and league cup successes.
The Saints ended the season with a low total of 168 disciplinary points, with Carmarthen Town finishing in second with 176 and Aberystwyth Town claiming third with 192.
It is the second year running that the champions have underlined the importance of a good disciplinary record, as Rhyl won the award last season.
The title of league 'bad boys' goes to Technogroup Welshpool, who amassed 304 points, while newcomers Bala Town received the most red cards - eight in all, followed by Port Talbot (7) and Rhyl (6).
Referees waved a total of 60 red cards as well as 935 yellows
Wales are 12th in Uefa's Fair Play league with Scotland (5th), Ireland (6th) and England (7th) all boasting better records. The top three nations, who gain an extra Europa League place, were Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
