| Striker Hunt moves down the coast |

PRESTATYN Town have swooped for striker Lee Hunt from north Wales coast neighbours Bangor City. City boss Nev Powell has lost out to the Seasiders after refusing to become involved in a bidding war for the 28-year-old, who returned to Farrar Road on transfer deadline day in February. With 107 goals from his 182 Welsh Premier appearances, Hunt originally joined the Citizens from Helsby during the summer of 2002, moving to Rhyl in December 2003, where he attracted the interest of Football League clubs. Named in the Welsh Premier dream teams of 2005 and 2007, he moved to Barrow in May 2008 after claiming he was being targeted unfairly by Welsh Premier referees. However, on his release from the Cumbrian outfit at the end of the following season, he made a surprise return to Belle Vue. Town boss Neil Gibson was delighted to have captured Hunt's signature: "To have a player of the calibre of Lee Hunt sign for Prestatyn is tremendous," he told the club website. "He was impressed by our ambitions and the set-up at Bastion Gardens and he will bring an extra dimension to the team ahead of what will be a very hard Super12 campaign. "Lee is proven quality at this level and his signing emphasises the fact that we want the very best at Prestatyn Town as we look to build on what we have already achieved and establish ourselves as one of Wales' leading club sides." Hunt says: "The set-up here at Prestatyn is first class and I am excited about what the new season will bring and I'm looking forward to pre-season. "I would also like to thank Bangor City for my time at Farrar Road and I wish them all the best in their forthcoming European games, they are a great club but at this stage of my career I felt it was time to move on and tackle new challenges." |
