| Euro clubs co-operate to gain match fitness |

THREE of the Welsh Premier's European participants will gain vital match practice in a mini tournament to be played at Llanelli's Parc Y Scarlets' training ground. Champions League contenders The New Saints will take part alongside Europa League duo Port Talbot Town and Llanelli. The schedule of games is as follows: Saturday 19 June Port Talbot Town v Llanelli Under 21s (1.00pm) Llanelli AFC v The New Saints (3.00pm) Tuesday 22 June Llanelli AFC v Winners/Losers Sat game 1 (7.00pm) Wednesday 23 June The New Saints v Winners/Losers Sat game 1 (7.00pm) Welsh Premier referees Mark Whitby, Dean John, Ceri Richards and Kevin Morgan will officiate. "This is a great co-operative initiative amonst the clubs to ensure we gain essential match fitness for Europe, where we often come up against teams that are in mid-season," says TNS manager Mike Davies. Bangor City declined an invitation to compete and form a quartet of Euro entrants as they do not enter the Europa League until the second qualifying round on July 15. Admission prices for the games will be £4 adults, £2 children and concessions. TNS will also visit Irish double winners Linfield on Saturday July 3 for the third time in the last few seasons as part of their build-up. Photo: TNS and Llanelli will take part in the tournament. |
