| Robins' boss Ryan swoops for two more |
| Saturday 05 June 2010 |
NEWTOWN boss Darren Ryan has filled two of the gaps in his squad by signing Merthyr captain Paul Keddle and striker Chris Hartland. A Welsh semi-professional cap who featured in the 2006 and 2007 Four Nations squad, Keddle (pictured) originally joined the Martyrs in the summer of 2002 from Rhayader Town. The 26-year-old Keddle then spent two seasons at Carmarthen Town - either side of a brief spell at Bath City - completing a total of 33 Welsh Premier appearances which yielded three goals. He also won a Welsh Cup winner's medal but left Richmond Park in June 2008 and signed for Newport County. Hartland, who arrives from Clevedon Town, is a former Wales Under-18 striker who is described as a pacey left-footed player, and has also enjoyed spells with Newport and Cinderford Town. Earlier this week, Ryan signed defender Lee Hartshorn, also from Merthyr. |
