Tomi MorganTOMI Morgan has been appointed manager of Carmarthen Town for a second time after incumbent Deryn Brace decided to step down.
Brace had been in charge of the Old Gold since May 2007 and a brief statement from Richmond Park says: "Deryn Brace felt that the club needed a new face to ensure further success."
The former Norwich City and Wrexham professional had returned to management just seven months after stepping down as boss of Haverfordwest County, where he was then axed as a player by incoming New Bridge Meadow boss Derek Brazil and moved to rivals Carmarthen to continue his playing career.
A regular in Brian Flynn's first-team at Wrexham, Brace won a Wales under-18 cap and several at Under-21 level during his six years at the Racecourse. He was also called up to the senior squad but was forced to drop out through illness.
He spent four seasons as player/boss at Haverfordwest, leading the Bluebirds into Europe for the first time. But Carmarthen only scraped into the top 10 on the final day of last season and five key players have since quit.
New manager Morgan (pictured) became player/manager of Aberystwyth Town in the first season of the domestic league, scoring 21 league goals in 42 appearances and, after managing Rhayader Town, spent six seasons at Carmarthen, leading the club to the Welsh Cup final and into Europe.
But he was sacked early into season 2003/4 after a string of poor results and had a brief spell on the coaching staff at Barry Town, also working with Spar Mid-Wales league side Penrhyncoch, where he won promotion to the Cymru Alliance.
He then managed Welshpool Town for more than four years before being relieved of his duties, and taking over from Paul Whelan at Porthmadog in February 2009.
