DESPITE speculation he would be moving to north Wales, Port Talbot midfielder Neil Thomas has returned to Haverfordwest County. The 28-year-old's RAF move has again fallen through and he returns to the New Bridge Meadow, where he spent two seasons before switching to the Steelmen last summer, scoring five goals in 27 (+1) appearances as Talbot claimed their highest-ever league position. Thomas first appeared in the Welsh Premier with Llanelli in season 2004/5 and won the Welsh Premier player of the month award in December 2004 after making just 10 appearances. He promptly signed for Bangor City but soon returned to Stebonheath Park when his RAF posting fell through. Thomas, who has previously played in the Welsh League with Taffs Well and represents the RAF and British Combined Services, joined the Bluebirds after his release from Stebonheath Park and has now made a total of 134 league appearances, including five for Porthmadog. He is the second signing of the summer for County boss Derek Brazil, who has already brought in Carmarthen Town midfielder Danny Thomas. |
