BROAD hints were dropped at the league's AGM that S4C will considerably increase its TV coverage of the Welsh Premier next season. While no details of the plans were revealed, the Welsh language broadcaster is believed to be planning live coverage of a domestic league game every Saturday as part of a new results show produced by Rondo Media, whose production of Sgorio Cymru last season has been widely praised. The proposal would be a major boost to the new "Super 12" format and also provide increased exposure for league sponsors, the Principality Building Society. League secretary John Deakin announced that negotiations were in progress to extend the Society's four-year sponsorship deal with the league. "We are more than hopeful of a renewal that will protect the clubs' interests and ensure you get a substantial increase in the amount received," Deakin told the meeting. |
