CARMARTHEN Town manager Tomi Morgan has added Llanelli's Stephen Evans and Port Talbot's Gary Bansor to his squad for next season. Midfielder Evans is a Wales Under-21 international who had trials with Norwich and Cardiff City before being spotted by a scout from Crystal Palace, where he made his debut in February 1999. After six appearances he joined Swansea City on loan, eventually leaving Palace in March 2002 and signing on a free transfer for Brentford where he made 48 league appearances. After spells at Woking and Crawley he signed for Llanelli in January 2008 and, despite being released by new manager Andy Legg in the summer of 2009, returned to the squad in November as a replacement for Rory Smitham, making 34 (+10) appearances for the Reds and scoring 10 goals. Bansor, who is a defender, played for Ryman League outfits Maldon Town and Brentwood Town before joining Port Talbot in January 2009 after arriving as a student at Swansea University. He has made just three full Welsh Premier appearances for the Steelmen, plus 10 from the bench. Meanwhile, Old Gold chairman Jeff Thomas has paid tribute to Deryn Brace, who stepped down as manager earlier this month. "Deryn is one of the most honest people I have met in the football world," Thomas told the club's website. "He has always given 100% to Carmarthen Town and his contribution is much appreciated. "We are also very pleased that he has intimated that he wishes to remain as part of the coaching staff and his vast experience can only enhance the club."
