| Boh's boss doesn't fear Saints' pitch |

BOHEMIAN boss Pat Fenlon has no fears of playing on The New Saints' artificial pitch in the forthcoming Champions League tie. But he admits that the Welsh Premier champions will be no pushover. Last season, the Bohs gained a creditable 1-1 away draw at Red Bull Salzburg, whose 3G surface is identical to the one installed at Oswestry's Park Hall. "Yes it's obviously different again," said Fenlon. "We had one last year in Salzburg and did alright on it, it's just what we've go to deal with and see what it's like." Fenlon was happy with the tie from a travel point of view and also to have avoided his former club Linfield, who are Northern Ireland champions but which he regards as "a local derby". And he is looking for encouragement from a large travelling support which is likely to stretch the 1,000-capacity Park Hall to its limits. "I think we had seven, eight or nine hundred in Rhyl a few years ago, so I imagine we'll bring a big travelling support," added Fenlon. "Maybe they will want to move it, but if I was their manager I'd be wanting to play on my own pitch. "They are certainly not going to be an easy team, they don't concede many goals and score a lot of goals so it will be a tough game, they've got decent players as well. "We'll watch their game at Glentoran and see if we can a few DVDs from last year, we'll have our homework done by the time we play them." Photo: Bohemian boss Pat Fenlon [BBC photo]. |
