| Davies braced for scouts' influx |

THE New Saints' manager Mike Davies is bracing himself for an influx of Football League scouts to Park Hall after his side's heroics in Europe. His bid to retain the Welsh Premier title and have another crack at the Champions League may depend on being able to hold on to key players like Matty Williams and Craig Jones, who both impressed during the six European ties. "There are four or five lads, if not more, who should be playing at a higher level," says Davies. "I don't want them to because that will mean they aren't with us, but I am surprised there aren't a lot of people out there having a look at them. "I think that's down to the generally negative view of the Welsh Premier but, with the restructuring and change in format, the profile should be raised a bit more now." He added: "Anyone watching us live on TV on Thursday night will have seen that Craig Jones is different class. "It was his first year of full-time training last year and he's so quick that full-backs just can't live with him." CSKA Sofia coach Sasho Borisov also praised several of the TNS players after his side's 2-2 draw at the Racecourse Ground on Thursday night. He singled out Jones, Williams, Danny Holmes and Chris Sharp saying: "My congratulations to TNS, they play very good British football."
