ABERYSTWYTH Town manager Alan Morgan says he is happy with his new-look squad as the Welsh Premier resumes on Friday. The Seasiders are looking to improve their position in the bottom six when they travel to face Afan Lido, who knocked them out of the League Cup on Tuesday night. Earlier this month, Morgan signed strikers Carl Lamb and Josh Shaw, and added to the new arrivals last week with Llanelli loanee frontman Chris Llewellyn, Bangor City midfielder Mike Walsh and goalkeeper/goalkeeping coach Chris Doran. Morgan is also bolstered by the return from suspension of ex-Middlesbrough midfielder Sean Thornton and is confident his squad is strong enough for the rest of the campaign. "I am pleased with the players that we have brought into the squad, they are here to do a job form us and will increase competition for places," he told the Cambrian News. "Chris (Llewellyn) is a proven striker who has a lot of experience in the Football League and he has played for Wales. "He needs game and I didn't expect him to be playing 120 minutes last weekend, but he came through it. "Mike Walsh will be another good addition to the midfield, which is where we have been looking to strengthen, I know what he's about from my time at Bangor. "Sean is the captain and a big part of the squad and he will have a big part to play in the second half of the season as we look to finish as high as we can," added Morgan, who pointed to the emergence of several local youngsters. "Young Alex Samuel came on and scored a crucial goal for us last weekend and he is one of several very promising young players such as Rhydian Davies, Liam James, Adam Carvell and Ifan Burrell. " I have always said that local lads will be given a chance, these players are gaining valuable experience in the first team squad and they have got real potential."
