Michael JacksonMARINE have added strength and experience to their defence with the signing of Michael Jackson from Caernarfon Town.
The 29-year-old defender or midfielder has scored 12 goals from 133 Welsh Premier appearances, joining Rhyl from Southport in the summer of 2001, and played a part in the Lillies' title success in 2003/4, before signing for Welshpool Town.
Jackson moved to TNS in April 2005 and played in both legs of the Champions League ties against Liverpool and MyPa-47. He then moved to Icelandic outfit Prottur in May 2007 and, after returning to the UK in the winter close season, joined Caernarfon in January.
“Michael is a great signing for us, adding to the spine of the team,” says Marine boss Kevin Lynch.
“I have been trying really hard to sign Michael and him choosing Marine ahead of other clubs in higher divisions shows how we as a club are moving forward.
“I hope his leadership qualities will rub off on the players around him.”
