Craig Williams returns to Latham Park

CRAIG Williams, who left Newtown to join Aberystwyth Town two seasons ago, has returned to Latham Park.

Promoted from the Newtown Academy while still only 16, Williams appeared in the Sky TV show 'Football Icon' and became the youngest to be voted Welsh Premier player of the month in November 2005. 

Named in the Welsh Premier's team of the season for both 2005/6 and 2008/9, the 24-yera-old Williams transferred to Aberystwyth in June 2010 and has now completed 184 (+21) domestic league appearances.

Newtown manager Bernie McNally has been talking to Williams over the past couple of weeks and the former right back may well return in a mid-field role, according to the Robins.

Newtown have also confirmed the signing of striker Elliot Jones from Montgomery Town.
