BALA Town have pulled-off a coup with the signature of ex-Wrexham and Wales Under-21 star Danny Williams. The biggest signing for Lakesiders' boss Colin Caton, Williams played more than 150 games during two spells at The Racecourse. A former Liverpool trainee, he has also played for Doncaster Rovers, Chester City and Bristol Rovers during loan spells and made 119 appearances for Kidderminster Harriers. He also has vital Welsh Premier League experience, having joined Rhyl last season after his release from Wrexham following the club's relegation to the Conference, helping the Lilywhites to claim the title. "Danny Williams is going to add experience to us," Caton told the Denbighshire Free Press. "I think he will add height and physique to us." Williams made 26 (+2) appearances at Belle Vue in Rhyl's championship win, but left in the summer and joined Droylsden. He goes straight into the Bala squad for the Gwynedd derby at lowly Porthmadog on Saturday. |
